Parle-G truly states itself to be a "national biscuit" because it is a cultural symbol and is every household's go-to tea-time biscuit. As we say on social media "it's an emotion" for the biscuit hits us with nostalgia as the biscuit has ruled the market since the pre-independent era of India.
While we all grew up with the same packaging of Parle-G that has been untouched for more than 6 decades, is the brand changing and evolving with the ever-changing times? And how well are its customers coping with it? The beloved brand has recently replaced its iconic Parle-G girl with an Instagram influencer's face, while it should have shaken every millennial, zillennial, and even GenZ, there was a twist in the story that beguiled netizens.
Is Iconic Parle-G Girl On The Packet Replaced By An Influencer? Here Is The Twist:
With this rapidly growing change of the digital age, the "OG biscuit" brand ParleG was not left behind as it responded in the funniest way to an Instagram content creator's curiosity that went viral and reached the teams of Parle G who chose to address the issue with as funny spirit as it could have been done.
Here's What Happened:
An Instagram content creator Zeervaan J Bunshah @bunshah made an Instagram reel of sitting in a car with a confused face questioning his followers "If you meet the owner of the brand Parle, do you call them Sir, Mr Parle, or Parle G?" with Anil Kapoor's iconic song My Name Is Lakhan as the audio in the BG.
The reel was posted 4 days ago and in no time it shot up like wildfire thrilling the internet and "reaching the right audience" and even to the brand Parle which prompted their witty comment "Bunshah ji, you can call us the OG."
But that was not enough, Parle took the joke to another level by posting a picture of the Parle G biscuit pack but there was the iconic girl's face missing! It was replaced by the Instagram creator @bunshah's smiling face instead with the caption "While you figure out what to call the owner of Parle-G, you can call us your favourite biscuit to enjoy with a cup of chai. What say @bunshah ji?"
The creator did not leave the chance to drop a funny comment under the post as he wrote "BAHAHAHAHAHA SEASONS GREETINGS INDEED. Parle G will always be my nourishment growing up, after any excursion, party, gathering, craving, saala fancy cake mein bhi ingredient rehta hai! I toh ate the biscuits as a kid thinking I'd become smarter. Usme toh kalti diya tum logon ne."
This proved that it was just sportsmanship in taking a joke on oneself and a social media gig and the manufacturers have not made any changes in the packaging "for real".
