Since being shared on Venkatesh's Instagram page on June 21, the reel has garnered more than 11 million views and almost 180 thousand likes. The video was captioned, ''Moms just momming at Palm Atlantis😂'' and set to the audio of the viral Sabrina Carpenter song, ''Please Please Please.''

The reel also received a reply from the hotel itself, which both praised the reel and offered advice. The Atlantis Palm wrote, ''Mom duties 👏 We hope you enjoyed your stay! (We include a retractable drying cord in every bathroom, so that you can dry your clothing over the bath)''

Instagram users wrote replies of appreciation, such as ''Moms are such cutiesss'' and ''Our desi moms ❤️''. They also wrote, ''You can take mom out of India but to take India out of mom is just impossible,'' and ''Aunty's one desi funda of daily routine is famous in European country. Hats off 2 Mother India.''

Others stated that it was ''bad manners'' to hang clothes out on the balcony for everyone to see, and that it is illegal in Dubai to do so. ''It's illegal to do this in Dubai! You can get fined, check the laws,'' and ''I got scolded by landlord on doing that😂.''

A user defending the reel said, ''Everyone in the UK does it. It's a natural way to dry clothes. Stop hating y'all.''
