Cheese And Ice Cream Sandwich Shocks Internet: When Will Bizarre Food Trends End?

A heart-shaped chocolate and ice cream sandwich did not win the heart of the public. The heart-shaped sandwich broke hearts when users realised it was comprised of cheese, jam, chocolate, and ice cream. Mixing jam and cheese together in a sandwich is bad enough, but as more ingredients were added the sandwich became more and more bizarre.

A user said that the items eaten individually taste heavenly, but mixing them up would ruin the taste. While most users were confused by the sandwich, some said it looked tasty.

One defended the fact that the sandwich had ice cream in it, saying that it tastes like cake. While that may be true, it does not factor in that the sandwich also had cheese and jam in it. Some users quipped that the sandwich lagged certain ingredients, such as Maggi and momos.

From gulab jamun pizza to mango Maggi, bizarre food trends have reached a new low and the public only have one question, when will it end?

Bizarre Food Trends

There is no shortage of bizarre food trends. Cooking has always led to experimenting with new ingredients and creating food that people have not even thought of. While people debated over whether pineapple belongs on pizza, a new contender stole the spotlight. The gulab jamun pizza immediately divided the internet as people claimed it ruined both pizza and gulab jamun, while others said people were overreacting as the dish was supposed to be a sweet dish and was only styled like a pizza.

The mango Maggi is a dish where mango juice is added to the instant noodles while it is being cooked. Then, a mango was cut into pieces and added to the Maggi. The bizarre combination left social media users horrified and disgusted.

What Sparked The Trend?

There's no way to determine how and who started the trend of creating a dish out of ingredients that are as different as chalk and cheese, but it did. The audience while visibly disgusts at the food items, the fact that it made its way on social media definitely hints that there is definitely a customer base.

One can definitely agree that one thing that makes people go is their want to stand out amidst so many food joints. When it comes to food, the small vendors are not just competing with other vendors but also with big chain restaurants. They may innovate dishes like gulab jamun pizza or Maggi with cake and cola to leave a unique mark of their own.

Secondly, food in a way is an art form and there are no two ways people would want to experiment with it. While some experiments gave us iconic food items like chimichangas, potato chips, chocolate chip cookies and what not. It also led people to come up with literal sandwiches with ice cream, chocolate and cheese.

Given the fact that we Indians are creative and have a varied and abundant street food culture, it seems highly unlikely that the trend of creating bizarre food items from metaphysical ingredients is here to stay for a long time. While it stays, might as well give a couple of them a try.
