Watch: 8-Year-Old Tears Up As He Celebrates Birthday For First Time

It was an emotional moment when a heartwarming video of a young boy celebrating his birthday became widely shared. Originally shared on TikTok the previous month, the video featured Ángel David from Ebéjico, Colombia.

In the video, David entered his classroom and became visibly moved as his classmates sang the Spanish "cumpleaños feliz" (happy birthday) song, marking his eighth birthday. Tears welled up in his eyes as he experienced this touching surprise.

David hails from a family with four children, and due to their constrained financial situation, his mother disclosed that she had never been able to arrange a birthday celebration.

Nonetheless, the young boy's teacher, Casas Ximeno, got wind of her student's upcoming eighth birthday. In response, she mobilised classmates, friends, and fellow teachers to unite and create a memorable event.

This plan had been in development since the previous year, initially conceived by two mothers.

As per the reports from BoredPanda, David's teacher expressed her desire to actively participate in the celebration. Subsequently, a cheerful group of people appeared at his school, which is situated in the town of Seville within the Ebéjico municipality. Their unexpected arrival left the young boy utterly stunned and at a loss for words.

Party & Celebrations

The eight-year-old was presented with a cake and some carbonated beverages, bringing delight to both him and his fellow attendees at the birthday celebration.

David's friends could be heard singing, "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday." In the classroom of the Presbítero Gabriel Yepes Yepes Educational Institution, adorned with balloons, his classmates chanted, "May you fulfil them happily and may you fulfil them again."

David's friends had even gone the extra mile by decorating the cake with a Paw Patrol theme, his favourite TV show. The result couldn't have been more perfect. He expressed, "I felt very happy; I had never experienced a birthday like that before."

After the video went viral across different social media platforms, it received an overwhelming amount of support and admiration for the sincere and memorable gesture made by the young students to ensure their less privileged classmate had an unforgettable birthday.

On Instagram, the video alone has amassed more than 25 million views and received over 1 million likes, highlighting the broad acknowledgement and appreciation for this heartwarming act of kindness.

One user wrote, "Children should only cry from happiness in this world." While another wrote, "It was him realising this was all for him and then him taking it all in for me."
