Sport can transform the future of Indian women says Viren Rasquinha who was instrumental in supporting PV Sindhu for most part of her training career through his organisation Olympic Gold Quest. The Former captain of the Indian hockey team, Rasquinha retired right at the peak of his career at the age of 28 to pursue management studies at Indian School of Business in Hyderabad. An athlete at heart, he could not keep himself away from the world of sports and joined Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) in the year 2009, where he went on to become the CEO.
Some of the top athletes that OGQ has supported are Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom and P.V.Sindhu, who recently won silver at the Rio Olympics. here>
Talking to SheThePeople, Rasquinha says sport has the power to empower women, transform their careers and bring India accolades. Giving an example of P.V.Sindhu, Rasquinha says that she is becoming a leader of change for many young girls in the nation.
