Cricketer Smriti Madhana is following in the footsteps of batswoman Harmanpreet Kaur. After Kaur recently bagged a bat deal with CEAT, Smriti Madhana has also signed a three-year advertisement deal with Hero.

"I'm delighted to be one of the few cricketers in India endorsing and playing with Hero bats. I look forward to doing well for India," Mandhana told TOI on Thursday (Jan 25). So now in the limited-over series in South Africa, Mandhana’s bat will have a Hero logo imprinted on it. She joins the league of Sourav Ganguly and Virendra Sehwag who have in the past endorsed the motor company on their batting gear. Currently, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and batsman Robin Uthappa have a similar deal with Hero.

Mandhana boasts of an average of 30.09 with a total of 933 runs, including two centuries and six half centuries. In all, her career so far comprises two tests and 32 ODIs

Mandhana played wonderfully in the ICC Women’s World Cup last year that shaped the scenario positively for the women’s team for the times ahead. The batswoman hit 90 against England and an unbeaten 106 against West Indies. She also participated in Big Bash for Brisbane Heat last year and wore the captain’s hat for the Women's Challenger Trophy a couple of weeks back and drove the team to victory at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
