UP Student Takes Her Own Life After Police Inaction In Molestation Case

A class 12th student from Uttar Pradesh ended her life after being fed up by police inaction after she complained that local goons molested her. The 17-year-old left behind a suicide note in which she blamed the local police for not taking any action against the goons despite filing multiple complaints.

The student claimed that the goons had made her life hell and were the reason why she stopped going to school anymore. The student, who took her last breath in a hospital in Moradabad on the dawn of March 21, was good at academics and her parents had high hopes for her but the police's refusal to take the matter seriously led to the young girl's death.

Her parents also claimed that the goons also barge into their house when she was alone on Holi and assaulted her. Later on, the family filed complaints of criminal intimidation and an attempt to rape but the police did not take any action.

The young girl's suicide note reads, "I no longer have the courage to face them. However, my family should not suffer. Sir , will you please listen now?"

UP Student Suicide Case

The family filed multiple complaints at different police stations but they got no help because the goons were from rich and influential families. Eventually, after facing continuous harassment without any help from the police, the young girl resorted to taking her own life.

The student even named police officer SI Malik in the purported suicide note as a person responsible for her death. The police claimed that one of the accused was detained when the complaint was filed but was later released on bail.

While there are police officers out their lives on the line for the sake of public safety, there are also police officers who are greedy wolves in the skin of glorious heroes. There are still people who consider patriarchal ideas above the law and give in to the crimes of the powerful. Such cases require unbiased investigation by authorities that don't get intimidated by the accused's money and influence. The student blamed the police for their inaction and took her own life after realising that she would not receive any help from the police.

Meanwhile, there are many people such as the accused who think that their money and power can help them get away with anything. In this case, it was a sad reality. It is devastating to see how a meritorious student has to end her life, leaving her entire family in pieces, just because some men didn't know how to respect women and their consent.

It's a shame that the case was only brought to light after the young girl took her own life. The police inaction in the face of several complaints resulted in the death of a young girl. Tragically, this is not an isolated incident and is yet another example of society ignoring and downsizing the hardship and trauma women face.
