Father-daughter relationships are really an interesting sight to watch. If not hindered by the patriarchal set of beliefs, they can be one of the most beautiful relationships in the world. However, it also has a comical sight that just adds to the interesting dynamics between the father and daughter.
Some fathers raise their daughters to be the absolute spoiled princesses who get everything before they ask. Others raise them like they are raising a goon. They teach you some of the most important lessons and some random ones as well like how my father taught me how to whistle when I was seven. At times these things are doable and useful from their perspective but not from their daughter's. However, that's what makes their bond beautiful.

Things Fathers Teach Daughters
On Reddit's @AskWomen page, a thread asked women to describe things that their father taught them that made absolutely no sense for a female. While women should know how to handle all the stuff on their own, learning a few things is not that useful as you might not be able to use them. Just like how this woman wrote how her father taught her that whenever she notices a creep, she should stand up, scream at and insult them and make sure that they are the first ones to land a punch.
Now this might sound good for a bulked-up girl with a good height but a 5 '2 girl in a dress with a petite figure is more adorable than scary when she acts fierce. Also, punching a six foot muscular guy will probably hurt her more. It sounds more like an invitation to get yourself beaten up but since the father thought it worked for him, it would work for her as well. Clearly, not always are these lessons fruitful and are instead a hilarious childhood memory.
There was a user who wrote a similar incident about how her dad told her to punch a nasty guy despite her being 4 '11. A nice move for when you have a backup or else you end up getting beaten up to a pulp if you are alone. However, brownie points for teaching her to be confident about her punch, it's better than blindly following stereotypes of women being weak physically.
A user wrote how her father said that she should eat the crust of her bread as it will help her grow hair on her chest. Indeed a very manly thing he taught to her not-so-manly daughter. However, not a smart move to make her eat the crust.
Another user wrote how her stepfather told her that periods were actually a way that her body used to get rid of toxins and impurities. It was understandable and a nice gesture from a father to normalise periods talk until the girl got to know about her mother's hysterectomy and asked if her mother's body was full of toxins and impurities now that she does not get periods. She was told to stop talking back. Well, that's what happens when you leave lessons halfway.
A user shared how her dad loved going skeet shooting with her but she would not like it as the recoil hurt her shoulder. He told her that it was because of her bra that it hurt instead of accepting that the shotgun was not made for her. Hilarious how fathers will do anything to make you love the sport they love. Another user wrote that her father once told her that she needed just a small amount of shampoo for her hair when she had long hair. Clearly an advice from his own experience but not a practical one for a girl.
