It wasn't long ago when on February 21, Shibani Dandekar was seen walking down the aisle with her father to marry Farhan Akhtar. Dandekar was dressed in a red outfit with a veil of matching colour. The pictures of the day went viral on social media with the videos of Farhan Akhtar dancing with Hrithik Roshan on the song Senorita.
As the keen observers of the internet hardly ever let go of anything, they started making posts about how Dandekar looks pregnant. Her tummy made some users curious as they pointed out that it is not as flat as they would like to see. Many started flooding her Instagram comment section asking her about her tummy.
Shibani Dandekar Pregnancy Rumours: No woman should have to explain why her tummy is not flat.
Trust the social media users to make a big deal out of nothing. The speculations reached a point when Shibani Dandekar herself had to clarify. She recently posted a picture of her relatively flat tummy and wrote, "I am woman! I am notttt pregnant! It was the tequila." Dandekar was explaining why her tummy seemed bloated on her wedding day.
In an ideal world, no woman will have to explain why her tummy is not flat, what she had that made her tummy bloat and why she is not pregnant. Since we do not live in an ideal world, many actors have had to clarify such rumours which grew beyond just some social media users attacking a woman for having a flat tummy. The unfounded speculations grow with one person spreading it to another.

One remark in the comment section made hundred others ask the same questions and then it starts to feel real when news organisations join in the investigation by asking. They ask " Is she really pregnant?" The actor is directly and indirectly made to "open up" and prove that she is not pregnant. Why are we so keen on declaring women pregnant? Why does it bother us to see non-flat tummies?
Dandekar had to serve proof of her non-pregnant tummy, although she did get creative with it. Actor Sonam Kapoor was also subjected to similar rumours. She had taken to her social media account to share that she was menstruating at the time. That has to end the rumour, right? Do social media users really need to know everything? Even the menstrual cycle of the female celebrities?
