Is hanging out with your partner's ex cool? Going down that path is never easy. But celebrities like Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber recently posed for a photo which made everyone think about how we look at this equation.
Getting to know about your partner's past is not a very easy conversation for many. Some handle it maturely and some might get petty. But what are the trends saying? Not just knowing about the past, accepting and moving on, it is now an option to hang out together and be amicable with them too.
Selena Gomez Hailey Bieber Viral Photo
Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber attended the annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday where the photographer Tyrell Hampton captured the two with his lenses in a rather informal, friendly pose. Not just one but several photos were shared of them hugging each other, smiling and having a casual good time.
Now the significance of this photo doesn't lie in just two women who happened to be related to one man but in the entire history and pop culture attached to their names. Hailey Bieber has been constantly hated for and blamed to have broken up the much-celebrated and popular couple Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. In a podcast, Hailey Bieber clarified about her relationship with Justin Bieber and how it never overlapped with any of his other relationships, she said, "A lot of the hate and the perpetuation comes from like, 'Oh, you stole
There is an enormous amount of people who still root for Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. Even though Justin Bieber got married to Hailey Bieber twice, once in New York City courthouse in 2018 and again in South Carolina in 2019.
Throughout history in several incidents and controversies, a woman has received way more hatred than their male counterparts involved in it equally or even more than her sometimes. There is also another way to bring women down which is by pitting them against one another. In a situation like this one, even though the man is the connection between the two he is often left out of the picture while people enjoy the hypothetical 'catfight' between the women. Because what else can women be interested in but fighting, right?
If we look at similar situations in India, stories around the iconic tension between Jaya Bacchan and Rekha have been going on for a long time. Their public interactions have been clicked and made into memes. There has been conjecture about Alia Bhatt's bond with Ranbir Kapoor's exes Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone. But why are women put into this place of hatred and gossip?

Is It Cool To Hang Out With Your Partner's Ex?
The only answer to this question would be, don't look for one. Don't make rules based on what the celebrities are doing. If in a situation you think cutting ties with your ex or your partner's ex is the safest option for you then you should definitely do that, While if your partner's ex and you have met each other and liked the company and you both don't experience any awkward vibe then why not?
Also, can we stop villainising women for no reason? And just let them decide how they want to conduct their relationships?
