Actor Pamela Anderson reveals her maternal side in her upcoming memoir, "Love, Pamela." The memoir will be filled with revelations about her two sons, Brandon, 26, and Dylan, 25, and about her strained relationship with her ex-husband and the boys’ father, rocker Tommy Lee.
According to an extract from her memoir, Anderson believes that the birth of her two kids is one of life’s true miracles, considering the gene pool she and Tommy Lee share.

She began by explaining how her sons Brandon and Dylan encouraged her to tell her story. "Brandon and Dylan are true miracles, considering their gene pool. They have been through so much, yet they are not full of holes," the actor stated.
Anderson was married to rocker Tommy Lea from 1995 to 1999. The couple are infamous for the drama and controversy that was created when an intimate personal tape of theirs was stolen and leaked. Anderson said that she has never seen the notorious sex tape, but reliving the trauma surrounding that event makes her sick.
"We dealt with it the best way we knew how, and some of it got crazy," Anderson wrote. "And Tommy and I, between the two of us, I don’t think we had the maturity level to really handle it all", s00aid Anderson.
Anderson and Lee got married in 1995 and lived in a lavish mansion. They had hired an electrician named Rand Gauthier to renovate their mansion. A few weeks later, he was sacked by the couple without pay. Lee threatened him with a short gun when he went to retrieve his tools. An angry Gauthier burgled their safe from the garage. Along with valuables, he found a cassette tape. The tape consisted of a 54-minute recording of the couple’s intimate moments, including a sexual encounter.
Gauthier and his boss, Milton Ingley, at the porn studio decided to make money out of this tape. After distributors refused to fund the tape, gangster Louis Butchie Peraino funded the manufacturing and distribution costs through a simple website. After the couple realised the safe was missing in 1996, the sales of the tape increased. Despite hiring a private investigator and filing a law suit, the tape had been reproduced and sold countless times.
The sex tape was released when Anderson's career was on the rise. Though it didn’t completely destroy her career, it made it difficult for her to be taken seriously as an actor. While the leaked tape had a huge negative impact on both Anderson and Lee’s careers, it was Anderson who suffered the most. Anderson, who was hypersexual early in her career and had posed for Playboy magazine several times in the past, wanted to establish herself as an actor rather than a sex symbol.
When Anderson and Lee sued to keep the tape from releasing, her hypersexual past was used against her. Why is there no regard for consent here? Posing for a playboy magazine consciously and willingly is one thing, but having a private and intimate moment she shared with her husband leaked in public without their consent is quite another. Her public image as a sex symbol and Lee’s bad boy persona led to people assuming that they might have leaked the tape on purpose and that it was just a publicity stunt. This shed a lot of negative light on Anderson’s career, and it never truly recovered.
After Lee was charged with spousal abuse, the couple separated legally. Talking about her divorce in the memoir, Anderson believes, "I think we really let our kids down. And that's something it's really hard for me to forgive myself about. We should have found a way through it. But I couldn't accept any kind of violent maneuver. It was my childhood fears coming out. I didn't want that for my kids, and as much as I loved Tommy more than anything in the world, I loved my kids more."
The memoir will be released on January 31, 2023. In addition to the book, a Netflix documentary titled "Pamela: A Love Story" is scheduled to be released on the same day.
