Ira Khan Wore Bikini In Front Of Father Aamir Khan, How Is It Problematic?

Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan celebrated her 25th birthday yesterday. There was a picture of her blowing the candles as she cut the cake, with her father in the background doing rounds on social media. The frame also included her mother Reena Dutta, and brother Azad, who is Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao's son.

Ira Khan was wearing a two-piece bikini set as the party was held on the poolside. Although, netizens, who have to be critical about everything, started trolling Khan for her choice of clothing. Moreover, they felt hurt that she wore such "skimpy" clothes in front of her father.

Khan is the daughter of Aamir Khan and his first wife Dutta. The couple is also parents to a son named Junaid Khan. The couple got divorced in 2002. Khan made her directorial debut in 2019 with the play Euripedes' Medea, which starred Hazel Keech in the lead role.

One of the users even wrote, "Which daughter stands next to her dad in a bikini? These guys are the worst influence on this woke generation. Trust Bollywood to ruin your culture and normalise such indecency in the name of modernity." Which worst influence is the person talking about? Why does wearing a bikini and standing next to "her" father causes so much outrage?

In the past few years, Bollywood as an industry has been under fire for so many reasons, other than equal pay issues, objectification of women, and other things. Everything became about dynasty and cinema families when there were so many things that could have been addressed otherwise and in a manner less troll-full.

Keeping that aside, all these people who carry the board of justice on their heads and believe that they are fighting the popular culture, how do they justify trolling and demonising women? Ira Khan is wearing a bikini on her own accord and at her own party, how does it matter to them?

The talks and debates on Bollywood are recent but guess which stereotype is the oldest? Women in skimpy clothes are bad influences. No, they are not. Stop blaming women for the dirt and the prejudice that you have in your head.
