Bollywood film producer and director Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan, the Indian talk show on Disney+ Hotstar, airing previously in Star World, is said to return with its forthcoming season seven. The 55-second-long trailer reveals Karan Johar in an out-of-the-box avatar.
As per media reports, first two guests are expected to be Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh for their upcoming 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Koffee With Karan Season 7 will begin filming the next week. Additionally, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh reportedly shot in the city for their episode around May 10, 2022.
Alia Bhatt In Koffee With Karan
The Student Of The Year actor has made several appearances before on Karan Johar’s chat show in earlier times. In 2016, the fifth season of the program's Koffee With Karan premiere included Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt over coffee. With a brief introduction to the "new" components the audience expected that in the season, Karan Johar launched the popular but much-discussed and “controversial” show.
Shah Rukh, Alia, and Karan's rather “cheeky” concoction served as evidence that a lot can happen over coffee. They joked, laughed, and talked about a variety of subjects, including Karan's secrecy, Alia's first lover, and the one occasion when Shah Rukh was genuinely disappointed in her. Shah Rukh also discussed the incident in 1992's Dil Aashna Hai wherein Hema Malini claimed she "didn't enjoy" his dancing.
Cut to 2014, when Alia was asked about her observation on marrying Ranbir, she replied, "If I wanted to get married to Ranbir, would I say it so openly on Koffee With Karan? That was just like a fan girl talking. I said I want to marry him because he is so cute; I meant it like a fan and not in real terms." Earlier, Bhatt had said that she has a big crush on Ranbir Kapoor and that she would want to get married to him someday. When the couple finally got married in 2022, these videos of Bhatt were seen floating around in different social media spaces.
All this seems pretentious when one thinks of an old Koffee With Karan episode when Alia, on being asked whom she would kill, marry or hook up with in the rapid-fire round. Responding that she would kill Sushant Singh Rajput and marry Ranbir Kapoor, she was attacked for being a representative of Bollywood's purported "insider" mentality.
Not to forget that Bhatt's first appearance on the talk show had resulted in heavy trolling for her when she could not tell the name of India's President. In a game round, she was asked to tell the name to which she replied, "Prithviraj Chauhan". Then started the memefest on the actor's name, the video of her saying the wrong name had gone viral. Bhatt later collaborated with AIB, a former comedy production house to make a spoof video on herself. The said spoof video proved that Bhatt can take a joke and has no problems in making fun of herself.
According to the latest season's invitees, newlyweds Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt can be anticipated to make their first appearance on the show together. Names like Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, and Siddhant Chaturvedi are among the others in the impressive cast of Koffee With Karan season 7.
