Ahead of the rumoured Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor wedding, Deepika Padukone was spotted at the airport on Monday. This has given gossip mills more fodder as netizens started speculating 'Bechari Shaadi Se Bhag Rehi'! Now, why would someone like Deepika, one of the rare celebrities who is comfortable in her own skin, run away from her ex- beau's marriage?
Why is it so unacceptable that a woman can move on in her relationships and find happiness elsewhere? On the professional front, Deepika Padukone is one of the highest-paid actors in Bollywood. Only sometime back, she reportedly walked out of a film for not being paid equal to her male co-star. In fact, she has been paid more than the male leads, often taken films to box office success on her own acting merit. She has never shied from standing up for what she believed in whether it is talking about mental health or just standing next to a bunch of students from JNU. On personal front, she has been married to Ranveer Singh since 2018 and together they are one of the power couples in Bollywood? So why should she run away from a situation? She is no abla nari!
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor Wedding: Why would Deepika run way?
Isn't the word Bechari out of place for a person who has so much going for herself? Women are able to keep their past in the past and start afresh. Padukone and Kapoor reportedly started dating in 2007. Padukone once during her interviews mentioned how infidelity played a huge part in why her relationship with Kapoor failed. Isn't it prudent then to stop and ask why should she still nurture feeling for that person? It is obvious that the ship has sailed for her and there is no looking back.

Women are able to keep their past in the past and start afresh
Both Padukone and Kapoor have put their past behind and acted in two hit rom-coms together- Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and Tamasha (2015). Alia Bhatt and Padukone opened the sixth season of the popular talk show Koffee With Karan and amicably talked about work, industry and exes. So, why does she have to run away from the impending wedding which is creating so much buzz?
In the same show, she said, "I think it’s just about accepting the past, the present and the future. I’m not someone who holds on to negativity. Understanding why two people cannot be together and the situation and letting go are very important. It only gets better (her equation with Ranbir). The relationship that we share is what I value the most. I don’t think it could be in a better place."
In today's day and the world, we think it is perfectly possible to be happy for an ex and continue to have a healthy relationship with one another. So let them be.
