Hina Nagarajan, an MBA graduated from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, becomes the first woman to lead the country’s second-largest liquor company (United Spirits Limited)USL as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
India’s second-largest liquor company, United Spirits Limited has announced Hina Nagarajan to be their next Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from July 1, 2021. Nagarajan is supposed to take the charge after the current MD and CEO, Anand Kripalu will step down from the position on June 30, 2021. Kripalu has been in charge of the position in USL since 2014.

- Hina Nagarajan is an MBA graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. She started with her career in Nestle in 1987 after completing her MBA.
- She is not only the first woman to lead USL, but also the first woman to lead a large scale liquor company in the country. The company, USL said that Nagarajan will move to Bangalore in April 2021 to work closely with Kripalu to 'ensure a smooth transition'.
- Before Diageo, Hina has held Managing positions for China & Senior Vice President North Asia with RB.
- Since the summer of 2018, Hina has led Diageo's Africa Regional Markets (ARM) comprising operations in Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, the Indian Ocean, Angola, and several other countries.
- As per the company’s statement, Hina is responsible for the significant growth of Diageo Africa.
- Nagarajan has spent over 30 years in consumer businesses and held several senior marketing and general management positions at Reckitt Benckiser (RB), Nestle India, and Mary Kay India.
