We are often told that stories like Bollywood don’t happen in real life. But, recently in Uttar Pradesh a seemingly real-life version of 2006 Shahid Kapoor-Amrita Rao blockbuster ‘Vivah’ played out. In Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh a bride met with an accident while she was getting ready, severely disabling her. But the groom stood by her side and married her just like it happens in the movie, giving relationship goals to many.

The bride, Aarti, fell down the staircase while trying to save a child. She was rushed to the nearest hospital and suffered a severe spinal injury. The doctors informed her family members that Aarti will be bedridden for several months and may even end up being disabled. Just like the conservative members of the society her family members were sure that the wedding would be called off and to stop that from happening they offered the hand of Aarti’s sister for marriage.
However, irrespective of his family resistance, the groom Avadhesh said that he would marry Aarti at the designated time and would take care of her treatment after the marriage. Like a real man, the groom decided to not ditch his wife and decided to support her through the worst.
For the wedding, Aarti was brought home in a stretcher for a few hours and the marriage was solemnised at the designated time. After all the rituals Aarti was taken back to the hospital where she underwent surgery on Wednesday and Avadhesh signed the requisite forms as her husband.
