The coronavirus outbreak is posing a challenge to well-being of people, which goes beyond protecting oneself from the pandemic. As India braves through a 21-day lockdown scarcity of food, little or no access to medicines among elderlies and hoarding of essentials are some of the challenges that we are facing. It is heartwarming to see people from different economic strata coming forward to help others in these distressing times. One such inspiring person is a farmer from Nashik in Maharasthra who has donated wheat from his farm.
The wheat he harvested is from one acre of his three-acre land. Datta Ram Patil told ANI that he is a small farmer and is not financially stable but if the family has one chapatti then they can give half to others who are in need.
He garnered praise from the Office of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, who tweeted, "Only Humanity can help us win the war! Thank you Datta Ram Patil Ji for this."
