Suvanya’s father succumbed to cancer in May 2021. In a bid to make his presence felt in her wedding ceremony, she got her father’s letters embroidered on her wedding ensemble which included a simple dark red lehenga and her long tulle veil that read, “from my heart to yours,” in her father's handwriting.

She said in an interview with Humans Of Bombay, "I really wanted to feel his presence at the wedding in a way that I can always hold on to, just like his letter". The letter was written by her dad on the occasion of her birthday. The lehenga embroidered with the letter was a surprise for everyone.

Not only that, the bride also decided to set her wedding day as December 13, 2021 as the it was the same date when her father got commissioned in the army. For her, it was an auspicious date.

"It's been 7 months since we lost Papa & sometimes, it scares me that my future milestones will be without him. But then I remember he is here, he’ll always be here… right in my heart!", she said.

The post has got 57,000 likes so far. Netizens are praising the girl and her dad for the strong bond they share.

Last month, a Pakistani bride was seen walking in the wedding venue with tears in her eyes and a photograph of her dead mother in her hands. The girl had lost her mother but she wanted to make her presence felt on her wedding. Read the full story here.
