Smriti Mandhana is the 2021 ODI cricketer of the year, all thanks to the cricketer's smashing ODI performances of this year. 2021 saw Smriti in full glory with a golden score of 855 runs in 22 international matches and an amazing average of 38.86.

Smriti's scorecard includes one century and five half-centuries this year and ranked first in ICC ranking. Looking back at her game this year, we can see that the cricketer continued to bag runs and played a major role in the matches against teams like South Africa and Australia. The left-handed batsman of the Indian women's team is also a former holder of ICC Best Female Cricketer Of The Year in 2018.

Looking At Smriti Mandhana's Journey In 2021

During India's T-20 International series against South Africa, Indian women's cricket team was going through a rough patch and was able to bag 2 wins out of 8 matches. In both the wins, Smriti Mandhana played a major role with her 80 not out when the team was chasing a score of 158 in the second match and in the final match win where she played 48 not out.

In the first inning of Test match against England, Mandhana scored a whooping 78 and 49 runs in ODI series. In the T-20 International, Smriti Mandhana bagged 50 runs including 30 runs in 15 balls but the win slipped from the team's hands as they fell short in runs during 2 matches out of 3.

Similarly in ODI series against Australia, she scored 86 runs followed by a smashing century in the only Test seriesfor, which she was awarded Player Of The Match and a fifty in the final T-20 International. She put Indian team in a strong position with her brilliant 80 in India's pink ball Test debut against Australia that ended in a draw naming Smriti Mandhana Player Of The Match.
