Background
Arunita was born on January 18, 2003, in Kolkata, West Bengal. She started her training in Indian classical music when she was four years old. Her first music inspiration is her mother from whom her love for music bloomed. She has completed her schooling at St Xavier's School in Kolkata. She was initially taught classical singing by her maternal uncle and later got her further training from Ravindra Ganguly in Pune. She is also an avid player of Harmonium and Tanpura.
She dreams of becoming an Indian playback singer and her idols are Lata Mangeshkar and Shreya Ghoshal.
Apart from participating in singing reality shows, Arunita also has her own Youtube account where she posts various clips of her singing covers in Hindi and Bengali.
Career
She later debuted as a ">contestant on a singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs which aired on Zee Bangla and emerged as a winner in 2013. She also participated in the Hindi version of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs which aired on the national broadcast channel ZeeTV. She was one of the Top 5 contestants and was under the mentorship of Indian playback singer Monali Thakur. In the reality show, she also won the title of "Manch ka Guroor".
She also participated in various live shows and has also performed on several international shows alongside the Indian playback singer ">Shaan.
In 2020, she participated in Sony TV's Hindi singing reality show ">Indian Idol Season 12 and became the first runner-up of the show in 2021 among the six finalists.
In 2022, she also participated as a team captain on Sony TV's other Hindi language singing reality show named Superstar Singer Season 2. The focuses on kids from age 7 to 15.
