Mardaani 3 in the works?
Now, according to an entertainment portal's report, director Gopi Puthran has come on board for Mardaani 3 and Mukerji will be seen as Roy once again. Puthran had earlier said, “Mardaani 3 will definitely happen. The other day, Adi (Chopra), Rani and I were chatting, and we have decided to not ruin the Mardaani universe that we have created and ensure the upcoming stories are told with utmost honesty. We don’t want to make stories just for the heck of it. So, Mardaani 3 will definitely happen with a strong subject.” Mardaani 2 was released in 2019 and featured actor Vishal Jethwa as the antagonist.
Further talking about Mukerji playing the protagonist, Puthran had opined, “Mardaani is Rani and Rani is Mardaani. We can’t think of taking this franchise ahead without her."
He had also shot down all speculations saying, “We have many more stories to tell. We have different subjects pertaining to women. We have many ideas, but we will take time to decide. I just hope the subjects that we pick resonates with all women."
Recently, Mukerji revealed that she planned to celebrate her birthday this year by interacting with her fans. "Since I'm not on social media, I look forward to spending time with my fans and people, who have been a constant support system for me over the years, through this annual social media interaction," she said.
Mukerji further added that she was looking forward to bringing in her birthday with her fans first, even before she celebrated it with her family. "Their love and relentless support has motivated me and validated all my film choices. So, this is my way of thanking them for being there and watching my back at every step of my journey in cinema so far."
