Yellowstone has caused quite an unrest among its viewers with its season 4, considering the cliffhanger that it ended with. The drama series revolves around the life of John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, who is running a cattle ranch in Montana that has been in his family for six generations. How he and his children struggle to keep the family ranch afloat facing multiple challenges forms the crux of the show.
The cast of the show includes a starstudded lineup, led by Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Gel Birmingham, amongst other actors. The show had premiered in 2018 and in 2021 it became the most-watched show with a viewership of 10.3 million for its season four. While season four of the show ended in January 2022, fans are already asking when can they expect the next instalment.

It has been reported that the new season might have a higher number of episodes than the others, aiming for 14 than the usual ten. Reportedly, season five of the show will also shed light on Dutton Family's struggles during the Great Depression, set in 1932. This isn't the first time Yellowstone will take viewers back in time, as season four showcased the family's fortunes and struggles in 1883.
With Season 5, Yellowstone fans can expect to find answers to the many questions that the series has built up to. Will Kaycee and Monica's relationship crumble, as seen by the former during his vision? What does the future hold for Beth And Rip, now that they are married? Will John's relationship with his obedient daughter Beth go back to normal after their difference in the previous season? How will Jamie ensure that he doesn't become a political puppet in the hands of Beth and John?
Yellowstone Next Season Release Date
The show's executive producer David Glasser confirmed that it has been renewed for next season, however, the date of release is still unknown. There have been hints by Glasser that the production of season five will begin in May 2022, which might mean that one can expect the show to be out around fall 2022.
Glasser said, "It's the prime of the show, think the show is still maturing, and there's still a lot of stories to tell. I know with (show creator Taylor Sheridan), he's got a lot to say and a lot to write. He's deep into season 5 of Yellowstone now. He's got some incredible ideas that he shared that I think the audience is going to be really excited about."
