On Monday, July 18, a man named Raheel Ahmed allegedly shot and killed his ex-wife at her condo in Streeterville, Chicago, before turning the pistol on himself. He reportedly made the long trip to Chicago in an effort to save his marriage. Horrifically, he fatally shot both his wife and himself at her Streeterville apartment in Chicago.
According to reports, at around 4:30 p.m., police went to Sania Khan's flat after they got a call for a welfare check. The police report says that the sound of a gunshot and the sound of a guy groaning could be heard when they arrived. According to the sources, Raheel Ahmed and his wife, Sania Khan, were "going through a divorce" when Chicago police received the information. The officers entered the apartment and discovered Khan, unresponsive at the door with a gunshot wound to the back of her head and blood on her face.
Who Was Raheel Ahmed?
Raheel Ahmed was 36 years old and was married to his ex-wife, Sania Khan, who was 29 years old. According to her website, Khan was a Pakistani-American professional photographer who relocated to Chicago from Chattanooga in June 2021.
Last winter, they reportedly also engaged in a court battle with one another. Chicago police were also alerted by the Alpharetta authorities that Ahmed and his wife, Sania Khan, were divorcing. The Chicago Sun-Times was informed by two of her friends that Khan and Ahmad got divorced in May. Additionally, his ex-wife accused him of domestic assault.

Ahmed was residing in Georgia with his family before passing away. He reportedly travelled far to reach Chicago. He visited her home because he was depressed, he was also experiencing financial difficulty, and wanted to "salvage the marriage." However, he shot himself and his wife to death at her Chicago apartment in Streeterville.
Ahmad was found in a bedroom bleeding from the head. According to the report, he had a handgun on him and a suicide note was found nearby. After being transferred to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Ahmad passed away there as well. Before they learned about the incident, Ahmed's family had reported him missing.
