Chinese Tiktoker Xiao Qiumei's death by falling off atop a crane has set off shock waves among her fans. The 23-year-old succumbed to her injuries. Who is Xiao Qiumei

- She was a native of China and worked as a crane operator and was known for sharing videos from her work on Douyin, China’s equivalent of video-creating app TikTok.
- She is known by her social media handle XiaoQiumei
- She was live-streaming a video when she fell 160 feet to her death from atop a crane
- The accident occurred around 5:30 PM last week on July 20. Her family confirmed her passing on July 24, as per a report.
- The influencer’s family, however, believes that her daughter wouldn't have filmed during working hours as she was a thorough professional.
- She is survived by two children.
- She was passionate about sharing videos of her daily life and profession with her followers. She used to share a number of dance videos also with her followers and was quite popular among them.
- Over 100,000 fans enjoyed her content on video app Douyin.
- A video circulating online allegedly shows Qiumei filming herself before she plunges to death. The video includes visuals of the descent and crane equipment.
- Her fans are now heartbroken and sharing condolences on her death.
This is not the first time when a social media influencer died in a tragic incident. Last week, Sophia Cheung, an Instagram influencer died after she fell from a hiking spot in Hong Kong.
