Who Is Vishakha Mulye? Career Banker Appointed As CEO Of Aditya Birla Group

Vishakha Mulye has been appointed as the new CEO of Aditya Birla Group as the board of directors approved her appointment to the post‌ in a meeting on Saturday. The post was earlier held by Ajay Srivinasan. Here's what we know about the newly appointed CEO.

Mulye will succeed Ajay Srivinasan as the new CEO of Aditya Birla Group. It is reported that Srivinasan will take up another post in the company. Aditya Birla Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate which spans multiple countries. The appointment of Mulye was approved in a meeting on Saturday.

The official statement of Aditya Birla Group reads, "based on the recommendation of the Nomination, Remuneration and Compensation Committee, (the board of directors) have approved the appointment of Ms. Vishakha Mulye, as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aditya Birla Capital Limited." It further informed that Mulye is not related to any Directors and Promoters of the company.

Vishakha Mulye will be joining the office from June 1, 2022 and work as the CEO (designate) of the company with a one-month overlap with Ajay Srivinasan in order to ensure smooth functioning of the conglomerate. After the overlap period, Mulye will take charge as the new CEO of Aditya Birla Group.

Who is Vishakha Mulye?

Vishakha Mulye is an Indian career banker and the new CEO of the Aditya Birla Group conglomerate. She also served as the executive director of ICICI Bank and is currently heads multiple banking operations at the bank.

Before this, she served as the MD and CEO of ICICI Ventures Ltd. The career banker has held various important positions and led many strategies as a part of the ICICI group. In her career spanning across 30 years, Mulye has worked in insurance as well as the private capital branch of the ICICI group.

Among her various strategies, Mulye led the team which concluded the negotiations for the merger of Sangli Bank and ICICI bank. She has also led the team with concluded the merger between ICICI Limited and ICICI Bank in 2002 which turned the bank into one of the largest private sector bank in India.
