Who Is Vidhi Acharya? Producer Married To Dance Choreographer Ganesh Acharya

Who is Vidhi Acharya:The film producer, is the wife of Bollywood dance choreographer Ganesh Acharya. The choreographer is again in news due to the 2020 sexual assault case against him.

The Mumbai Police filed a charge sheet against Ganesh Acharya on March 31 accusing him of sexual harrassment, voyeurism and stalking. The case was filed against Acharya in 2020 by a co-dancer. The woman in her complaint filed with Oshiwara Police alleged that Ganesh Acharya sexually harassed her.  Along with Acharya, his assistant has also been charged with insulting the modesty of a woman, causing hurt, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, criminal intimidation, common intension to commit an offence, sexual harassment, stalking and voyeurism under the Indian Penal Code.

Sexual Misconduct Case Against Ganesh Acharya

The complainant woman alleged that Acharya would often play pornographic content and intentional increase the volume when any woman came to his officer. When the woman went to Acharya to collet her dues in 2019, she alleged that she was molested by the choreographer. She also said that he demanded sexual favours from her in order to “not ruin” her career. Her membership in the Indian Film and Television Choreographers Association was also cancelled just six months after the incident. It was the time when Acharya had taken the chair of General Secretary of the association. The woman accused Ganesh Acharya's assistants as well for assaulting her on his behest in January 2020. Other women also came out with similar allegations against Ganesh Acharya.

The choreographer has maintained that he is being dragged in a false case. He alleged that it is because of their vested interests that the women are accusing him of sexual harassment.

Who Is Vidhi Acharya ?

Film producer and Ganesh Acharya's wife Vidhi Acharya produced her first film titled Hey Bro starring her husband and Prem Chopra in 2015. She is the owner of the production house V2S films. In 2021, she announced five new films. As per reports, she was helped by her husband Ganesh Acharya and his connections during her time as the first-time producer. The V2S films also producer a recent film starring Ganesh Acharya titled Dehati Disco. 

Ganesh Acharya and Vidhi Acharya have a daughter together named Soundarya Acharya. Vidhi Acharya has worked with the many important people of the Bollywood industry such as the veteran actor Rekha. The same can be seen on her social media handle. She has a following of over 24,000 people on Instagram. Along with her husband, Vidhi Acharya also runs a charity called Ganesh Acharya Foundation which, according to the info on her Instagram, stands for "humanity, environment and charity."
