According to the Daily Beast, a volunteer Brazilian soldier who was fighting with Ukrainian soldiers was killed by a Russian military attack. Before entering the war in Ukraine, the 39-year-old sniper fought against the Islamic State in Iraq, according to the source.

The 39-year-old Thalita do Valle had already taken part in humanitarian efforts and engaged in combat with ISIS in Iraq. Valle was killed last week when a rocket struck her bunker in Kharkiv, which has been often bombed during the conflict.

As per reports, Thalita do Valle studied law after working as an actor and model. She also participated in an NGOs' efforts to save animals. According to the Daily Mail, the sniper recorded her sniper training before joining the Peshmergas, which are the military forces of the sovereign Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Before she passed away, she was working with a writer to create a book on her time spent in Ukraine. Valle's brother, Theo Rodrigo Viera, praised her as a hero who participated in humanitarian missions and wished to rescue lives. Only three weeks had passed after Valle arrived in Ukraine before she began working as a rescuer and sharpshooter.

Valle has previously shared stories of her experiences in conflict on her YouTube channel. Her anti-ISIS movies attracted a lot of attention right away and at least 32,000 people saw them. Douglas Burigo, a 40-year-old former soldier in the Brazilian Army, was also slain in the current attack when he arrived to search for Valle.
