Who is Susan Khan? Social media outrage has built against the Pakistani influencer who reportedly exhibited a sedated lion at her birthday party in Lahore.
Visuals of the chained big cat at Khan's do, shared by Pakistani organisation Project Save Animals, went viral online earlier this month, leading netizens to demand strict action against people using wild animals as entertainment props.
"Lions were shackled left and right and paraded as if they were a new decoration piece. Which they're not, obviously. Why do we tend to forget that these are living, breathing beings that have the capacity to feel just like you?" the PSA Instagram page wrote, alongside a video of the lion chained on a sofa amid the celebration.

All You Need To Know About Who Is Susan Khan & The Controversy
Susan Khan is an artist, as per her social media bio, and has worked as a model with multiple brands. With approximately 53,000 followers on Instagram, Khan is a known influencer.
Renting wild animals in Pakistan is common practice but illegal in some parts. Last week, another Pakistani figure, actor Nadia Hussain invited criticism for a family photo with a chained lion she shared on Instagram.
Syed Hassan who runs the PSA organisation told VICE he received visuals from inside Khan's birthday party from an attendee. Party attendees told the publication that the animal was not abused there.
Sharing a video of Khan stroking the chained animal at her party, PSA wrote further on Instagram, "Its honestly horrendous seeing as to how these influencers seem to not care about the animals. Not a single remorse." In videos allegedly from the party, the lion is seen being brought in by its caretaker's side, who reports say remained with it throughout the event.
Khan hasn't yet made a public comment on the birthday lion controversy.
