Who is Sucheta De? After the workers' protest at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) yesterday, the activist and the central committee member of the Communist Party of India Marxist (CPIM) Liberation, Sucheta De tweeted that she was not allowed to enter the campus and that she has allegedly been declared out of bounds.
Yesterday, De tweeted, "Sanitation, mess, horticulture and office staff of JNU have not been given wages for the last three months. When they demanded wages, 150 sanitation and mess workers have been denied duty today. Stop this blatant exploitation of workers @MoHFW_INDIA @NCSC_GoI."
She also added that the workers have called on a strike and will be sitting indefinitely in front of the Dean of Student's office. Raise your voice. Support the workers." Today, the activist tweeted in all caps the update on the situation as well as her being allegedly stopped.

De tweeted, "JNU ADMIN HAS DECLARED ME OUT OF BOUNDS, STOPPED ME FROM ENTERING THE CAMPUS FOR EXPOSING VIOLATION OF WORKERS RIGHT INSIDE THE CAMPUS."

The NewsClick reported that the mess and sanitation workers at the JNU have boycotted work and protested yesterday. They alleged that the administration has not cleared their salary and they said that the new structure of work suggested that the JNU admin will grant them only three days of work.
Who Is Sucheta De?
De is the former National President of the All India Students Association (AISA) and the ex-president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union. She is currently the Central Committee Member of the CPIM Liberation.
She had done her education in Geography from JNU between 2005 to 2014 and has been an activist with AISA since 2006. She has more than a thousand and three hundred followers on Instagram and all one hundred eighty-nine posts by her indicate her political involvement in activism and voicing truths.
