Who Is Sriram Venkitaraman? The Managing Director of Kerala Medical Service Corporation Sriram Venkitaraman and the District Collector of Alappuzha, Dr Renu Raj are soon going to tie the knot. The wedding will reportedly take place next Sunday. The couple informed their colleagues about their nuptials through WhatsApp.
Both Venkitaraman and Dr Raj had graduated in medicine before taking up the civil services. Venkitaraman got into civil services after cracking the Union Public Service Commission exam in 2012- he secured a second rank. Post which, he became the sub-collector of the Devikulam, which is a gram panchayat and comes under the Idukki district of Kerala.
Dr Raj too had got the second rank in the civil services examination, when she took it in 2014. Like Venkitaraman, she joined the position of sub-collector in the Devikulam area, as well as Thrissur. The two were in news for their intervention in the eviction of encroachers in the Devikulam area. Dr Raj, at the time, was married to a colleague, she later got divorced and is now going to marry Venkitaraman.

Who Is Sriram Venkitaraman?
In 2019, Sriram Venkitaraman was suspended after his alleged involvement in a road accident which led to the death of a journalist named KM Basheer. He was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol which had led to the accident. He was arrested on August 3.
Later, he was repositioned in the bureaucracy as the joint secretary of the Health Department.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he is a career bureaucrat who is experienced in working in diverse government sectors like health policy, skill development and land revenue. He is also a trained physician, who had a master’s degree in Public Health, with a particular focus on Global Health.
Venkitaraman did his bachelor’s of medicine and bachelor of surgery between 2004 to 2010 from the Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram. Later, from 2018 to 2019, he did his Master of Public Health from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.
