Who Is Srabanti Chatterjee: Bengali actor Srabanti Chatterjee has now entered the political world. Ahead of the assembly polls in West Bengal, the actor joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in Bengal.

In a formal event, Chatterjee was welcomed to the Narendra Modi lead party in the presence of the party's General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, IT head Amit Malviya, state president Dilip Ghosh and Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Dasgupta.

"I have joined BJP as I think the party is working for the development and change in the state," she said at the event.

• Srabanti Chatterjee began her career in the Bengali film industry as a child actor with the 1997 film Mayar Badhon alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta.
• Later, she made her debut in the lead role with Champion in 2003.
• The 33-year-old actor has also featured in Mahalaya special shows on popular Bengali television channels.
• The leading lady of Bengali cinema turned host for the TV show SuperStar Paribaar.
• Srabanti tied the knot with Roshan Singh in 2019. The actor was previously married to film director Rajiv Kumar Biswas (2003-2016) and photographer Krishnan Vraj (2016-2017).
• She also has a son, with her former husband, named Abhimanyu aka Jhinuk.
• Chatterjee will soon make her OTT debut with the web series titled Dujone opposite actor Soham Chakraborty.
