Who Is Shweta Singh Gaur? BJP Leader Found Hanging From The Ceiling In Her Room

BJP leader Shweta Singh Gaur was found hanging from the ceiling in a room at her house in Uttar Pradesh last week. According to fresh reports, she had purportedly been living in fear for her life. She had even started recording her husband’s phone calls that could be used as evidence.

Her family said that she was suspicious that her husband was involved in running an international sex racket. She had started recording evidence of her husband’s alleged dealings with brokers for Russian, Moroccan and African girls.  The family has now filed a criminal case against her husband Deepak Singh Gaur, his mother, father, and elder brother of murdering her. They also said that Shweta Singh Gaur shared the audio recordings with her family before her death.

Her brother Rituraj gave a statement according to which her sister was murdered by Deepak Singh Gaur to hide the fact that he had extramarital relations with Russian sex workers.

• Shweta Singh was the daughter-in-law of retired IPS officer Raj Bahadur Singh.
• She was elected to the Zila Parishad from Chandwara as a local BJP worker associated with the party’s Uttar Pradesh wing.
• One night before she ended her life by suicide, she shared an injured lioness’ photo on her Facebook story hinting towards the fact that it was not a suicide but murder.
• Her husband Deepak Singh Gaur works as a liquor trader.  He was detained during a vehicle check in the Mataundh area of the district, according to Banda’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Laxmi Niwas Mishra.
• According to reports, the couple was facing troubles in their married life because the wife was politically more popular than her husband. Her husband had previously run for the District Panchayat from the Jaspura ward but failed.
• The BJP leader's brother also claimed in his lawsuit that her sister was subjected to constant pressure from her in-laws to have a male child.
