The film starring Ranveer Singh and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles was released yesterday and fans cannot stop raving about the acting and the strong cast that the film has presented. In the film, Pandey plays the role of Kinjal, the wife of Singh's character Jayesh Parekh. This is her debut in the Hindi film industry.
The drama and comedy filled film is directed by Divyang Thakkar. It is a clever film as it takes grave issues like female foeticide, and the treatment of women in public and private spaces, and presents them to the audience with a humorous tone to it. The Hindi film industry has quite a number of films of similar nature where a burning topic is soothingly delivered to the audience with a touch of comedy.
The film is about Parekh and Kinjal, who have a daughter and are expecting a baby girl again. This time the family is hell bound to have a boy as he will take the legacy of the family forward. Parekh's father is the head of Panchayat, Parekh is going to be the same when his father dies and the family wants a boy to continue the tradition.

Things go beserk after they illegally identify the sex of the foetus. On being informed that the child is a girl, Parekh's parents, played by Ratna Pathak Shah and Boman Irani want Kinjal to abort the baby. Both Kinjal and Parekh decide to keep the child and what follows is the couple and their child running ">away from his parents.
Who Is Shalini Pandey?
Pandey had made a debut in the Telugu film industry alongside Vijay Deverkonda in Arjun Reddy. Reportedly, her character's voice was dubbed as she could not speak in Telugu.
Born in Jabalpur in September 1993, she has acted in Tamil films too. This film is her debut in the Hindi film industry. Earlier, she used to be part of the theatre in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The 28-year-old actor made her Tamil debut with MM Chandramouli's 100% Kadhal, which is a romantic comedy also starring GV Prakash.
She is famous for the film Mahanati, which is an autobiographical drama based on the life of late Indian actor Savitri Ganesan. Her upcoming films include Maharaja by Junaid Khan.
