Sagarika Goswami from Tihu, Assam, entered the India Book of Records by playing multiple characters in a single short film.
Goswami is a 21-year-old girl from Nathkuchi from Tihu. She is a student of Kumar Bhaskar Barma Sanskrit & Ancient Studies University, Nalbari. In the short film Girl Is Gold, Sagarika Goswami played the role of 11 characters.
Apart from acting, Sagarika Goswami wrote, directed, videographed, and produced music for the film. She was inspired by the theme Beti Bachao, Beti Paraho (save girl child, educate girl child) This theme was launched by the central government.
She was born to Hemanta Goswami and Anamika Goswami in Nathkuchi. Since her childhood, she was engaged in with literary and cultural activities. On her achievement, she received massive praise from the people of Tihu and social across the nation on social media.
Ritamoni Borah
Another girl from Assam had got into the India Book of Records. She is credited for the Smallest Book Published in India. Talking about her book Ritamoni Borah said, "My book has three stories- Makoi Besa Lorajon (The Boy Who Sold Corn), Fota Jutar Kahini (The Story of Torn Shoes), and Nisthur Niyoti (Cruel Fate)." She was also recognised by the International Book of Records.
Borah is doing her Bachelors of Arts degree from North Lakhimpur College. She added that the first story, Makoi Besa Lorajon, is based on a true story of a 9-year-old boy who, to make ends meet, sells corn on the roadside day in and out.
Ritamoni Borah added, "I aimed to create an uproar with the small book so that the newer generations who have lost the taste of reading books will be attracted to this." She also said, "My goal was not to make a book that would be considered to be one of the smallest published books."
