Pooja Hegde: From Beauty Pageants To Starring Opposite Sought After Superstars

Who is Pooja Hegde? Actor Pooja Hegde unveiled the poster of her upcoming film with Prabhas on Instagram today. Titled Radhe Shyam, the film will release in cinema theatres on July 30 this year. Apart from Radhe Shyam, Hegde will also be seen in Cirkus opposite Ranveer Singh. The film is being directed by Rohit Shetty and will also feature Jacqueline Fernandez and Varun Sharma in key roles. From failing to make it to the Miss India pageant stage to now starring opposite most sought after male stars, Hegde has come a long way.

1. Hegde was the second runner-up at the Miss Universe India in the year 2010.

2. She made her debut with the Tamil film Mugamoodi in 2012 opposite Jiva. Hegde then made her Telugu film debut in 2014 opposite actor Naga Chaitanya in Oka Laila Kosam.

3. In 2016, Hegde starred in her first Hindi film Mohenjo-Daro alongside Hrithik Roshan. The film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker wasn't received well either by the critics or the public.

4. After the failure of her Hindi debut film, Pooja Hegde primarily focussed on working in regional language films, starring in projects like Maharshi, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava andAla Vaikunthapurramuloo. Her second Hindi film was Housefull 4 (2019).

5. To maintain her fitness Hegde practices pilates, callisthenics and kick-boxing with circuit and interval training.

6. According to her eating well is the key to staying fit, not crash diets or juice cleanses. "You need to take care of your body till you’re 40. After that, your body will take care of you," she said in an interview.

7. Due to the failure of her debut Bollywood venture, Hegde to a conscious break from Hindi films. "Its failure was heartbreaking. Eventually, South films came along, and work attracted more work. I held off signing Hindi films because I needed a sturdy second movie," she revealed in an interview.
