Actor Neha Mehta, who was a part of the sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma (TMKOC) and essayed the role of Anjali Taarak Mehta, quit the show in 2020 ending an association of 12 years. The actor recently alleged that she has not been paid her dues for the last six months of her work and expressed hope that she will receive what she's owed. In response, the show's producers, have now released an official statement claiming that she is falsely accusing them and that the actor's not completed the exit paperwork.
In a statement published in the Indian Express, Neela Telefilms said, "We think of our artists as family. To finish the paperwork with us, we spoke with Neha Mehta several times. Unfortunately, she has delayed signing the exit forms, without which we are unable to perform a full and final settlement in accordance with company policy."
"Additionally, for the past two years, she has stopped responding to any of our communications, and she left the show without ever meeting us. Instead of making false allegations against the people who have given her recognition and a profession for the past 12 years, we wish she had responded to our communications. We reserve our rights to appropriate action," they added.
Earlier this week in an interview with the Times of India, Mehta spoke up about not getting paid, saying, "Before leaving the role of Anjali in TMKOC in 2020, I played it for 12 years. The money for the previous six months is still due. I called them a few times about my pending dues after I left the show. I don't like to complain, but hopefully, a solution can be found soon and I will receive my hard-earned money. "

Who Is Neha Mehta?
Neha, 44, is of Patan, Gujarat, origin and has a Master of Performing Arts (MPA) in Indian Classical Dance as well as a Diploma in Vocal and Drama.
She did theatre for many years, and Sahebji was one of the well-known plays that Mehta performed in Gujarati. In 2001, she debuted on Indian television with the Dollar Bahu series on Zee TV.
She portrayed the title character in the STAR Plus TV series Bhabhi from 2002 to 2003. In 2004, she went on to play Kushik in Raat Hone Ko Hai. She started playing Anjali Mehta in the SAB TV comedy series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2008, which became one of the most popular roles played by her. In 2020, she exited the show.
She has also appeared in Gujarati films like Janmo Janam (2001), Better Half (2010), and Halkie Fulkee (2021).
