Who Is Mia Threapleton? Kate Winslet's Daughter To Share Screen With Her

Mia Threapleton, the daughter of Kate Winslet, will soon be sharing the screen with her mother in Channel 4's series I am. The series I am is an anthology of films exploring the experience of distinct women through moments that are emotionally captivating and thought-provoking. The mother-daughter duo will be seen together in the episodes titled I Am Ruth.

Reportedly, the filming of I am is scheduled to start around April end. The anthological series is created, written and directed by ace filmmaker Dominic Savage. Actor Kate Winslet will be seen playing a prominent role in the series with her daughter Mia Threapleton. Director Savage is excited to work with Winslet as he mentioned in an interview, "Kate is such a legend, such an incredible and sublime acting talent, and I can't wait to start shooting this unique and important story that we have created together."

I am is produced by Me+You Productions with executive producers Richard Yee and Savage, with Caroline Hollick and Gemma Boswell. According to reports, the stories in the anthological series have been developed through creative partnership with the lead actors. Each episode in the series is named after its leading character.

Who is Mia Threapleton?

Mia Threapleton is a British actor known for her roles in  A Little Chaos, Shadows and I Am. She is the daughter of actor Kate Winslet and director Jim Threapleton. Parents Winslet and Threapleton were married from 1998 and 2001. Mia Threapleton was first seen in 2014 film A Little Chaos led by her mother Winslet. The actor made her debut as a lead in 2020 Italian series Shadows.

Threapleton will be next seen in anthological series I Am with her mother as the two will helm major roles in an episode titled I Am Ruth. Reportedly, the 21-year-old suffers from the learning disability, dyslexia. In an interview with Variety, the actor revealed that her dyslexia helped her grab the first-ever audition for Shadows saying, "Shadows was the first film I'd received an audition for, and the first script I had ever been given to read. I couldn't believe my luck. I read it and didn't put it down," further adding that she, "read slowly and steadily to be able to absorb things fully."
