Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya is the first wife of present Russian President and former Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Since Putin preferred to keep his personal life private, very little is known about his former wife. Putin and Ocheretnaya parted their ways after thirty years of marriage in 2014 which ended mutually.
Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya and Vladimir Putin met through a mutual friend in Leningrad and got married in 1983. Their divorce was finalised in 2014 as the two decided mutually to finally get separated after thirty years of marriage. Speaking about her divorce with Putin, Lyudmila said, "Our marriage is over due to the fact that we barely see each other" and further added that the Russian President was always submerged in his work.
Lyudmila and Putin made an official announcement about ending their marriage in June 2013. The former first lady of Russia held her position from May 7, 2012, till June 6, 2013. As the first lady, Ocheretnaya preferred to keep a low profile since she wasn't fond of the publicity much. She made most of her public appearance based on the state protocols.

Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya is the former first lady of Russia and ex-wife of Russian President Vladimir Putin. She holds a degree in linguistics in Spanish language as well as a Philology from Leningrad State University. Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya was married to Vladimir Putin from 1983-2014. She had two daughters with him, namely, Mariya and Yekaterina.
Ocheretnaya served as a flight attendant for Aeroflot at the Kaliningrad branch. She also taught German language at the Philology Department of the Leningrad State University from 1990-1994. She also served as the Moscow representative of Telecominvest and worked in the Centre For Interpersonal Communications and Literature Education publishing house in Moscow and Art Show Centre. In 2016, Ocheretnaya reportedly married businessman Artur Ocheretny who is 21 years younger than her.
