Star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez recently put out a note on social media announcing the death of their baby boy. While thanking the nurses and the experts who cared for their baby, the couple asked for privacy.

Opening up about the heartbreaking loss on Instagram, Ronaldo wrote in his post, "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support." The footballer further added that the family was devastated at this loss and wanted privacy at this very difficult time. "Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you," the note further read.

The couple had announced their pregnancy six months ago on social media, also revealing that they were expecting twins. "Delighted to announce we are expecting twins. Our hearts are full of love - we can’t wait to meet you," read the caption of the post shared by Rodriguez, alongside ultrasound images of their babies.

Ronaldo is a father to four other children named Cristiano Jr, Mateo and daughters Eva and Alana. Out of these, three were born to surrogate mothers. His eldest son Cristiano Jr was born on June 17, 2010. In June 2017, Ronaldo became a father to twins Mateo and Eva, also through a surrogate mother, whereas Alana was born to Rodriquez.

Who Is Georgina Rodriguez?

A model and dancer of Spanish descent, the 28-year-old has more than 35 million followers on Instagram. Rodriguez spent her childhood in Jaca Spain, where she grew up with her sister Ivana and her Spanish mother and Argentinian father.

While growing up, Rodriguez was training to be a ballerina, until she moved to the city, where she worked as a luxury sales assistant in Madrid.

She first worked with Massimo Dutti and then Gucci. It was while working with Gucci that Ronaldo became her personal shopping client. Eventually, he asked her to join him for an event and the two have been in a relationship ever since. The couple has been together for five years now.

Rodriguez also had a Netflix series called I am Georgina where she explains her work before meeting Ronaldo and what her life came to be like after she got into a relationship with the superstar footballer.
