Recently, the trailer for the next season came out, and without a doubt, it was more horrifying and grimmer than what we have seen previously.

Who is Eleven?
The plot of Stranger Things revolves around the lives of Eleven, Mike, Jonathan, Will, Lucas and Dustin, who live in a town called Hawkins, which finds itself exposed to a portal to the "upside-down" alternate realm. Each chapter of the show brings new danger to this group of friends. The upcoming show's trailer hinted that Eleven has now lost her power, just when she needs it the most- in order to save Hawkins from complete doom. While this is the final chapter of the show, it is amazing how far Stranger Things characters have come over the years, especially Eleven.
In season 1, Mike, Jonathan, Will, Lucas and Dustin meet Eleven in the first episode. This mysterious little girl has supernatural powers and doesn't know much about human ways and culture.
Eventually, it is revealed that Eleven was kidnapped and raised in the Hawkins National Laboratory, where she was experimented on for her psychokinetic abilities. Eleven escapes the lab and then meets this group of friends, who take her help to track down Will when he goes missing.
As dangers come and go, Mike and Eleven develop a bond. But as the plot progresses, it is shown that while living in the lab, she had made contact with a creature from another dimension, leading to the opening up of an inter-dimensional gateway.
At the end of season 1, viewers were led to believe that Eleven was dead, however, in the subsequent season, it is revealed that she was rescued by local cop Jim Hopper. She lives with him at his grandfather's cabin, away from the eyes of prying Hawkins citizens. But Eleven misses her friends and she decided to take her own path and discover her past in the process. She returns to her friends, which is followed by yet another threat and them fighting it off. She is then taken as an adopted daughter by Hopper. But after an ugly fight with dangerous creatures, she loses her powers.
In season 4, after Hopper's death, she is taken in by the Byers family and now lives in Lenora Hills, California with them. She attends high school along with Bill and her other friends. the ">trailer also reveals that Eleven will be key to winning an upcoming war against the monsters from upside down that could start at any moment.
As she wages this war, Eleven and the viewers would like answers to many questions - What is Eleven's exact origin story? What does the future hold for her once the war is over? Will her powers ever come back or has she lost them forever.
