Who Is Debashish Dasgupta, Listed As Father Of Nusrat Jahan's Son Yishaan?

Who Is Debashish Dasgupta? The birth certificate details of Nusrat Jahan's newborn son have ended media speculations about his paternity. Jahan had earlier slammed those who were questioning her repeatedly about who the father of her child was. The Bengali actor had separated from her husband Nikhil Jain some time ago and there were rumours that she was dating actor Yash Dasgupta.

The birth certificate of Nusrat Jahan's son has revealed that he has been named "Yishaan". It also carries the name of his father- Debashish Dasgupta, as per news reports. Ever since this news began doing rounds, people are confused about who Debashish Dasgupta is. What many do not know is that Debashish is Yash Dasgupta's formal name.

Here are five things we know about actor Yash Dasgupta aka Debashish Dasgupta:

1. Yash Dasgupta began his career as a television actor, predominantly working in Hindi serials. He is known to have been part of daily soaps like Bandini, Basera and Na Aana Is Des Laado.

2. In 2013, Dasgupta went on to star as Aranya Singha Roy in Bengali serial Bojhe Na Shey Bojhe Na, which was a remake of the popular Hindi serial Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? starring Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani. The serial marked a turning point in his career, as Dasgupta's character became immensely popular.

3. In 2016, he made his silver screen debut with the Bengali film Gangster, in which he starred alongside Mimi Chakraborty. He will next be seen in a film titled Cheene Badaam.

4. In 2021, Dasgupta announced his candidacy for the West Bengal Assembly elections on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. He lost the Chanditala assembly seat to Trinamool Congress Party's Swati Khandaker.

5. Dasgupta and Jahan have worked together in the action thriller SOS Kolkata, released last year.

When Jahan was admitted to Neotia Hospital in Kolkata on Aug 25, Dasgupta drove her there. He was present with Jahan when she gave birth to her baby. Dasgupta had then confirmed to media that Jahan and her baby are both healthy. As Jahan had to stay in the hospital for sometime after giving birth, Dasgupta was captured by media when he came to pick her up and the child.
