Here's What We Know About Chaithra Kotoor, Actor Who Is In News For Her Marital Rift

Who is Chaithra Kotoor? A former Kannada Bigg Boss contestant, Chaithra Kotoor attempted suicide on April 8 by consuming phenyl at her house in Kolar, Karnataka. The writer-actor, who is stable now, reportedly has been having rife with her husband, Mandya-based businessman Nagarjuna's family. Her husband's family has accused her of forcefully marrying Nagarjun by threatening him.

Who is Chaithra Kotoor?

1. Earlier this year, the former Bigg Boss contestant turned rapper with a track called Hudugaru Thumba Olleyavaru, which was composed by Surendranath KR. The video of the song was recently filmed around Mysuru. She has penned the lyrics and given her voice t0 the song as well.

2. Kotoor became a household name after she entered Kichcha Sudeep's Bigg Boss Kannada 7 where she survived for 75 days.

3. She is also a scriptwriter and assistant director working for television serials primarily. She has also featured in a supporting role in Haripriya’s Soojidaara before entering Big Boss Kannada.

4. She got married to a businessman, Nagarjun at a temple in the presence of her family members. The marriage was a low key affair. On March 28, a picture from their temple wedding had gone viral. However, Nagarjuna’s family refused to accept their relationship. She was reportedly in a relationship with him for the past couple of years, the police said.

5. Her father Narayanappa told police that Kotoor was depressed by the rift between her and her husband's family. On the day he got married (March 28), Nagarjuna had gone to Kolar's women police station and stated that he was not interested in this alliance. He reportedly alleged that he was also “forced” and threatened by some people to marry Chaithra Kotoor against his wishes.

6. Kotoor's father said that the actor had already attempted suicide twice earlier.

7. The actor told the police that Nagarjuna's family had bad-mouthed her and even issued death threats if she did not let him go.
