Who Is Bhavya Rai? Noida Woman Arrested For Manhandling Building Security Guard

A Noida woman was detained after a video of a fight she had with a residential society security guard went viral. The woman was sentenced to 14 days in judicial detention for misbehaving with the security personnel on Sunday.

The 32-year-old, Bhavya Rai, assaulted the security guard of the residential community while hurling insults and threats. Another security officer, Karan Chaudhary, who recorded the entire incident, claimed that Rai was trying to leave the society and she became enraged since the gate wasn't opened quickly enough.

On the basis of Chaudhary's complaint, the police filed a case against Rai, leading to her arrest. Rai was accused of violating sections 153A (acts detrimental to harmony), 323 (voluntarily causing damage), 503 (intentional insult to cause disturbance of public peace), and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (criminal intimidation).

Media sources claim that the woman who harassed the security guard in Noida, Bhavya Rai, is a lawyer by profession.

The dispute started while the woman was leaving the JP Wish Town neighbourhood in Noida's Sector 126 on August 20. She is claimed to have consumed a lot of alcohol and started shouting and abusing the guard for taking so long to open the gate at around six o'clock in the evening.

A guard named Karan Chaudhary made the video and submitted it to the police. People from all around the country tweeted about this video when it first started to become viral on social media, calling for the accused to face justice.

On August 21, around 2 pm, police arrived in JP Wish Town and took the woman to the police station. The police also pulled up in the woman's car in the middle of this. Later, the police announced that Bhavya Rai had been taken into custody. The woman is sentenced to 14 days in judicial detention.

The woman in question, according to society secretary Ankit Kuchhal, became a residence of the housing society in May 2022. Anshu Gupta, the society's treasurer, stated that plans were being made for her to leave her apartment. The owner of the flat where she lives is cooperating with police officials regarding the same.
