'Gaalis, Violence And Infidelity' Know Why Arzoo Govitrikar Has Filed For A Divorce

Who is Arzoo Govitrikar? The Mere Baap Pehle Aap actor Govitrikar had filed a case of domestic violence against her businessman husband in 2019 and now seeking a legal separation.

Arzoo Govitrikar and Siddharth Sabharwal tied the knot in 2010 and they are parents to seven-year-old son Aashman. Arzoo is the sister of actor and model Aditi Gotvitrikar.

In an interview with ETimes, Govitrikar said that the complaint of domestic violence was filed after her husband (Siddharth Sabharwal) pulled her by the neck and tried to throw her out of the flat. He had slapped her and kicked her in the stomach, the actor has alleged. There were even days when she was abused badly but Govitrikar claimed she couldn't come out because she didn't want her bruises to be seen. They had often fought over Sabharwal's alleged alcoholism and thereafter he had reportedly dragged her into a bathroom at 4 am and hit her badly.

She further alleged that it was not just physical abuse her husband hurled casteist slurs at her. All this affected her well-being and that she started suffering "blackouts", Govitrikar noted. She also shared that Sabharwal first raised his hand on her two years after their marriage. After their son was born, she claimed that he was cheating on her. His alleged violence towards her escalated when she told him that they should try to make their marriage work. She said the "gaalis, violence and infidelity" had become unbearable. Who is Arzoo Govitrikar?

Govitrikar has appeared in films like Baghban and Mere Baap Pehle Aap. She has also done television shows like Naagin 2 and Ek Ladki Anjaani Si. She was first seen in the Malayalam film Kakkakuyil back in 2001. She then went on to star in several movies such as Tulsi, Manmadhan, among others.

Apart from the popular television shows, she has also featured in Ghar Ek Sapna and CID. Govitrikar is model-actress Aditi Govitrikar's sister. She was raised in a Brahmin family in Mumbai. She is from an engineering background but her sister influenced her to change careers, as per reports. She appeared as a model in some commercials and went on to act in supporting roles in films.
