Ahead of State polls, Aparna Yadav, daughter-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav is looking at joining the BJP. The move comes on the heels of three former BJP ministers joining the Samajwadi Party.
Aparna Bisht Yadav is a politician and social activist in Uttar Pradesh. She is the daughter-in-law of former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Who is Aparna Yadav? The leader who is speculated to join BJP after Yogi Adityanath's government saw a series of big exits.
She is married to Mulayam Singh Yadav's son with his second wife Sadhana Gupta, Prateek Yadav. They got married in 2011 and have a daughter.
Previously, the Choti bahu had contested from Lucknow Cantt. constituency in the 2017 Assembly Elections but was defeated by BJP's RitaBahuguna Joshi.
Aparna Yadav did her master's from the University of Manchester, the United Kingdom in international relations and politics.
She had also pursued formal education for nine years at BhatKhande Sangeet University in classical forms. She is specialised in the Art of Thumri.
Yadav runs an organisation "bAware" which is known for working towards women's rights and empowerment.
She came into the limelight in 2014 when she praised PM Narendra Modi for his Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan program. She had even donated eleven lakh rupees for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Also, she expressed her support to the National Register of Citizens contrary to the stand of the Samajwadi Party.
She had also voiced her opinion in support of the abrogation of Article 370 by the Modi government despite her party opposing it.
Netaji's Choti bahu had written, "Those who belong to India, why should they be afraid of NRC." She had also said, "If someone belongs to India, what problem do they have to get registered in the roster."
She even urged people to get vaccinated through her social media platforms. She posted a picture that read "Dil mein na rakho koi bhi shakh, apni baari aane par teeka zaruur lagvana".
Aparna Yadav's father Arvind Singh Bisht is the current state information commissioner of Uttar Pradesh, he is a journalist while her mother Ambi Bisht is an official of Lucknow Municipal Corporation.

The assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held between 10 February and 7 March 2022. These will be concluded in seven phases and elect the 403 member Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The results will be declared on 10 March 2022.
