Who Is Aparna Purohit ? Amazon India head Aparna Purohit has been in the news ever since Amazon Prime Video's Tandav  got caught in the controversy.

Purohit has been accused of inappropriately depicting the Uttar Pradesh police personnel, Hindu deities and a character portraying the prime minister in the series.

She had numerous FIRs lodged against her, after the web series aired on Amazon Prime on January 15 this year. She had then filed an application seeking anticipatory bail at the Allahabad High Court, but that was rejected. Now the Supreme Court of India has decided to stay her arrest and granted her interim protection.

Here is what we know about the Amazon India head Aparna Purohit:

1. Aparna Purohit got her B.A. Honours degree in journalism from the Delhi University. She then completed her post-graduation in mass media from the APJ Kidwai Mass Communication Research Center (MCRC) at the Jamia Milia Ismalia University, New Delhi in 2002.
2. She started working at with Sony Entertainment Television as an executive producer for numerous shows including CID, Fear Factor, Kaisa Ye Pyaar He, etc.
3. After this, she moved to UTV Motion Pictures, (2007-2008), and produced and developed films like Hook Ya Crook, Philum City, etc.
4. Aparna then joined Reliance Entertainment in 2008, and produced films like Abohman, Chuck Jawana, Well Done Abba, etc.
5. Purohit became the Project Manager for the Film Bazaar (2010) which was organised by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) in 2010. She was responsible for coordinating and organising the event which was meant for building 'collaboration between the Indian and International film fraternity.'
6. She then joined as a senior manager at Mumbai Mantra Media where she managed two initiatives and coordinated all aspects of the Screenwriting Lab.
7. It was 2014 when she joined as the Creative Head of Productions at the Cinestaan Film Company. She supervised the company's production Mirzya which was directed by Rakeyesh Omprakash Mehra.
8. She had also produced a chat show called Jaane Pehchane with Javed Akhtar for the EPIC Television.
9. In 2016, she joined India Originals Amazon Prime Video. The Amazon India head Aparna Purohit has launched numerous successful shows such as Inside Edge, Breathe, Four More Shots Please! etc.
