She played the role of Hope in the popular television series Virgin River and will be making a comeback in season four, where she will be visible more often than in season three. She could not be more available due to COVID-19. The show first came out in 2019 and the has been keeping viewers hanging by the thread after every season gets over.
In season three, Hope, played by Toole was visiting family in South Carolina and kept in touch with Doc, played by Tim Matheson, over FaceTime. In an interview, showrunner Sue Tenney had said, " (O'Toole) was not able to travel, so we had to pivot. I actually really like what we came up with, though. I think it works really well. Keeping her present on the show, even though she's only actually in a couple of episodes, was paramount."
Hope was last seen with Doc when they were ambushed with a sudden engagement party and it was just when he was about to reveal a troubling diagnosis. Since Hope was not in the picture, Doc relied heavily on Mel, played by Alexandra Breckenridge and Muriel, played by Teryl Rothery, for support.

The show follows the story of a nurse who moves from Los Angeles to Northern California in search of new beginnings. It is written by Robyn Carr, Sue Tenney and Patrick Moss. It was renewed by Netflix in September 2021. Creator and writer Tenney even revealed that in the new season Mel and Jack might get married.
