Who is Ann Herbert: Nike Executive Ann Herbert announced her departure from the company on March 1. Herbert, who served as the vice president and general manager of the company's North America division, will quit with immediate effect. The resignation comes shortly after a news report claimed that her son Joe Herbert had used a credit card in her name to buy sneakers for his resale business.
Here is what we know about Ann Herbert:
1. Ann Herbert was in various sales roles at Nike, starting in 1995.
2. Prior to being appointed as the Vice President and General Manager of the sportswear giant, Herbert had worked as the head of sales in North America, head of Nike’s Asia Pacific and Latin America divisions.
3. She is married to Pascal Herbert, founder of West Coast Streetwear, the shoe resale company whose business led to Herbert's departure from Nike.
4. Ann Herbert's son Joe is a 19-year-old college dropout, who is currently running the sneakers resale business West Coast Streetwear.
5. Joe reportedly used his mother’s credit card to buy over $100,000 worth of limited-edition shoes, that he could then resale using his company.
6. Reports suggest that Ann Herbert had informed her employers about her son's business back in 2018. The company claims that there was neither any form of violation of its policies nor was there any commercial affiliation between the resale business and Nike.
7. Anne, Nike nor Joe Herbert have issued a statement following the reveal.
