The latest sports biopic Kaun Pravin Tambe has been hitting the headlines for its spectacular execution. The lead Shreyas Talpade has received praises for his performance in the film; however, another gem of an actor is being lauded for her performance in the film, actor Anjali Patil.

She plays the role of Vaishu, Pravin Tambe’s wife, in the film. Patil has made her way into people’s hearts with her effortless performance in the film and we can’t wait to see her future performances. It has also left many curious about who is Anjali Patil is.

Who is Anjali Patil?

• Anjali is an Indian actor belonging to a Marathi family who works in Hindi and Marathi films predominantly and has won accolades for the same. She is also a theatre director. She is an alumna of the National School of Drama where she did her Master’s in Theatre Design.
• The actor has previously worked with coveted directors like Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, Prakash Jha, Nagraj Manjule and others.
• Patil was awarded for her performances in the films Delhi in a Day, Chakravyuh, Newton, and Sri Lankan film With You Without You. Prashant Nair’s Hindi-English international independent film Delhi in a Day was Patil’s first feature film.
• Her appearance in Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh, which dealt with Naxalism issues, as Naxal leader Juhi earned her stellar reviews. She then worked with Rakesh Omprakash Mehra for two films—Mirzya and the lead in Mere Pyare Prime Minister in 2018. She also worked in Rajkumar Rao-starrer Newton.
• Patil has also worked in the South Indian film industries—Malayalam and Tamil and in an international film with Sri Lankan writer-director Prasanna Vithanage in With You, Without You which is a Sinhalese film. Patil did the dubbing for the film herself, becoming the first Indian actress to do so in Sinhala.
• The actor has worked with acclaimed director Pa Ranjith in his film Kaala starring Rajanikanth. She amassed a great fan following after her stint in the film as a fierce activist, Puyal. This film marked her debut in the Tamil Cinema Industry.
• Patil in an interview admitted that she is a polyglot and is fluent in Tamil, Malayalam, French, and Sinhala apart from Hindi, English and Marathi.
• Anjali Patil is also a filmmaker who has helmed the film Neither a Girl Nor a Woman produced under her own production banner Anahat Films.
