Where to watch Toofaan: Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film, Toofaan has already stirred quite a controversy. The film narrates the story of Aziz Ali (Akhtar) aka Ajju Bhai, who is a gangster from Dongri and goes on to become a national-level boxer. He looks up to Muhammad Ali, while his partner Dr Ananya (Mrunal Thakur) motivates him to achieve his dream. Paresh Rawal plays the role if Akhtar's coach in Toofaan. The film is set for an OTT release mid-July.
However, just days ahead of the film’s release, #BoycottToofan has been trending on Twitter as a section of social media users have demanded a ban on the film for allegedly spreading "love jihad".
Akhtar has gone through some strenuous training to transform into the role of a boxer. The 47-year-old actor shared a video on his social media handle and revealed how he transformed into Aziz Ali. He captioned the video, “Training to be a boxer…It took about two years to bring the boxer persona to life." He went on to thank his entire team for the support they provided during this project.
